Traffick Free, an award-winning non-profit organization based in Chicago, provides tools and sustainable programs to combat human trafficking. Starting in 2008, they began raising awareness and providing education on the local realities of sexual and labor exploitation in the Chicago area. This year, Traffick Free opened a part-time drop-in center for adult females engaged in commercial sexual exploitation.
To celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8th, Docademia together with Overflow Coffee Bar, a social enterprise coffee house in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood, have proudly joined forces to raise awareness and funds for anti-human trafficking campaigns.
If you’ve never tried us out, now’s the time. Join us on Wednesday, March 8th at 9:00 pm EST to watch How Much?, a film about African women immigrants in Turkey. We will also have a live online video conversation with Gülşah Keleş, the film’s producer.
Donations contributed toward the film screening will go to support Traffick Free, helping them grow toward FULL-TIME operations. You’ll gain some new perspectives. Participate in our March 8th event and see for yourself how Docademia can connect you to filmmakers and cultures around the world!
