I Want To Be A Cop
Directed by: Rajendra Dhamane
Fasepardhi is a tribal community in rural India whose members are labeled as “born thieves.” It is true that a part of this community commits theft. However, the police and people in the greater society treat them as if they are all thieves. No one gives them jobs. The police arrest them as suspects for any crime committed in the community. In this situation, how would their children feel? When the police arrest their parents without any proof, how do they react? As the children are facing harassment from the police (Cops) and other villagers, they still love their nation. They still want to serve their motherland and society. Innocently, they believe that if they become cops, everything will be better, as cops are strong and powerful. Their innocence and their reality is the story of “I want to be a Cop”.
